A combination of styles are used to customize and advance the benefits of your treatment.

They are Swedish, Trigger Pt. Release, Deep Tissue and sometimes Sports stretches & Shiatsu. Please don’t be shy in changing styles up, as it will increase the overall enjoyment of your session. Listed below are light definitions of the treatment styles.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure is generally more intense.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of massage that uses thumb pressure and works along the energy meridians in the body. Like acupuncture, shiatsu is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine, where illness is thought to result from imbalances in the natural flow of energy, or qi (pronounced “chee”) through the body.

Swedish Massage

A technique designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to the muscles. It increases circulation and stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish Massage reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. Swedish massage techniques include: long strokes, friction, percussion, vibration, and effleurage.

Ashiatsu

The word Ashiatsu (ashi means foot and atsu means pressure) is an ancient form of bodywork using deep compression effleurage gliding over the body. Gravitational force is combined with centrfugal and centripetal movements to bring about a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage. Correct application will provide deep relaxation and stimulate the lymphatic system of the body. Bars are used over head for balance.   (Temporarily unavailable)

Trigger Point Release

A trigger point is an area of a muscle that may refer pain sensations to other parts of the body. Trigger Point Release applies manual pressure to trigger points. With the proper pressure, duration and location, tension is released and improves muscular function and mobility.

Prenatal Massage

Specifically designed for mother-to-be, prenatal massage loosens the muscles and joints, improves the circulation, relieves fatigue and aids the body through the pregnancy phases. This technique also benefits the calmness of mind and spirit.

MUST be passed your first trimester.

Sports Massage

Uses therapeutic soft tissue massage, gentle mobilization, and stretching techniques to restore function to muscles and joints before, during and following your sport of choice.
